Stop Feeling Stuck. Start Connecting.

Are constant arguments, overwhelming anxiety, or strained family dynamics preventing you from living an authentic and balanced life?

Welcome to Uhls Family & Marriage Counseling. My name is Mary Beth Uhls, LMFT, and I provide couples counseling, family therapy, and individual support designed to get you relief faster.

My Solution-Focused Approach

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I don’t just treat an individual; I work with the entire system of relationships you are embedded in. I believe that by changing the patterns of how you interact, you can heal and create a healthier balance in your life.

My approach is brief, practical, and goal-oriented—designed with your desired outcome in mind. We will focus on:

  • Identifying the root patterns that keep you stuck in conflict or distress.
  • Developing specific, attainable skills (like better communication and conflict resolution).
  • Creating a lasting sense of wholeness in your relationships and spiritual life.

Research indicates that Marriage and Family Therapy is as effective, and often more effective, than standard treatments for many mental health issues.

Who I Help

I provide counseling for individuals, couples, and families in the greater Louisville, KY area struggling with:

  • Couples/Marriage Challenges: Chronic conflict, lack of intimacy, post-affair recovery, and pre-marital counseling.
  • Family Dynamics: Parent-child problems, boundary issues, and navigating major life transitions.
  • Individual Growth: Anxiety, depression, grief, unresolved childhood issues, stress management, and finding a more authentic and spiritually wholesome life.

A Personal Note from Mary Beth

My counseling philosophy is rooted in over 20 years of helping people achieve their goals. Before becoming an LMFT, I worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, guiding clients to overcome physical and emotional barriers in the workplace. This experience taught me the power of focused, actionable change—a power I now bring to your most important relationships.
